So much history in one city!
My main reason for doing the Bath Tour from London was seeing all the Roman architecture. And while the baths were amazing, I had no idea about Bath Abbey and the Royal Crescent. The city has so much to offer! That whole strip of houses is just something else, I have no idea how they even built that. Very impressive. And Bath Abbey was lovely, I loved how much light there was inside the church. So, I guess my recommendation is, don’t focus only on the baths - there’s so much more to see!
Very pleasant trip and very well organized
I really enjoyed this day trip to Bath from London. The coach was right on time and was pretty comfortable. I’m fairly tall, and had plenty of legroom, so that’s a huge plus from me. Our bus tour guide Eva was also just incredible. Very friendly, very accommodating and understanding, and very knowledgeable. She gave a great overview of what we should go see in Bath. I hadn’t even heard of the Royal Crescent before! And I definitely wouldn’t have thought to go see the Grand Pump Room.

The baths were dedicated to Sulis (a local version of the Roman goddess of wisdom, Minerva). If you’re curious about Sulis, stop by the museum too. There you’ll find a gilt bronze head of the goddess and countless other ancient Roman artefacts.
VISIT ‘MODERN’ ATTRACTIONS: BATH ABBEY AND THE ROYAL CRESCENT
After the Roman landmarks, go see more ‘recent’ monuments. For example, Bath Abbey - Bath’s parish church. Founded in the 7th century, it was built out of Bath stone. Bath stone is a pale yellow color, giving the Gothic church a fresh, light look. The church is huge - it can host up to 1,200 people! Also, try to see the Royal Crescent. It’s a row of 30 houses, all with terraces, that fan out in an elegant crescent arch. They were designed by John Wood the Younger, and considered masterpieces of Georgian architecture. Plus, the Royal Crescent is huge; it stretches an impressive 150 meters.
